Mats A. Bergman is professor of economics at Umeå University and, since 1 January 2024, the Dean of Umeå School of Business, Economics, and Statistics. Bergman’s research interest lies in industrial organization, with a focus on competition policy, public procurement, pharmaceutical pricing and economic regulation. Bergman has published in the Journal of Public Procurement, Journal of Health Economics, Journal of Industrial Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, the Review of Industrial Organization among others. He served ten years on the board of the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority and is currently a substitute member of the Swedish Pharmaceutical Benefits Board.
